Merch Designs

To help with fundraising, I have designed merchandise for various nonprofit and political clients. From shirts to hats to custom underwear for a sex-positive event, I have worked with these organizations to create Instagramable products that will spread their message and aid in fundraising efforts.

Various Projects — Utah Valley University

In my role at Utah Valley University, I have created swag items for our various items. Some highlights include:

  • Custom baseball cards for each of our highest-level donors. Each couple or individual was invited to a VIP athletics tailgate and given a framed version of their card and the full set. This project won a CASE Circle of Excellence Award.
  • A shirt for Alumni that featured the seals of each previous iteration of the university on the sleeves. This item required multiple reorders because the Alumni team kept running out.
  • A vinyl record for a donor who named a campus theater after her mother. I curated music based on the donor’s memories with her mother and designed the cover to match the event branding we put together.
  • Custom paper airplanes for a donor event. This experience was for our highest-level donors and took place during the pre-vaccine period of the COVID-19 pandemic. The event was held at the university’s airport hangar to allow for distancing, and we sent them home with the paper airplanes to make with their families.
  • Scarves and ties using the EverGREEN campaign mosaics. To learn more about the branding I created for the EverGREEN campaign, click here.
  • Mascot prayer candles for internal use. These have become standard gifts within my division that are given to employees when they reach employment milestones or before they move to a different another job.

Pride Merch — Nick for Utah

During Nick Mitchell’s congressional campaign, he was running to be Utah’s first openly-LGBTQ federal representative. I designed a line of merch that would bring in donations and spread Utah pride in the face of years of anti-LGBTQ legislation in the state.

For this line, I created 60 Utah-specific shirts. Using 20 LGBTQ identity flags, I created a variation of the new Utah flag, the beehive emblem, and the shape of the state. Utah’s new flag had only been recently released, so the campaign was able to capitalize on the new design. In addition, I created several other designs to appeal to young voters.
