Professional Experience

2018–

Brand Manager & Associate Editor

NCHC Journal of Undergraduate Research & Creative Activity — Chattanooga, TN

As the lead for all aspects of visual identity, I work with editors and advisors to create and maintain a contemporary aesthetic in-line with the goals of the journal. To achieve this, I have rebranded the organization, created collateral for marketing campaigns, and designed and coded a new website. Each year, I also review art and literary submissions for publication. Click here to see this project.

2018–19

Student Graphic Designer

Southern Utah University Marketing Communication Office — Cedar City, UT

Balancing multiple projects at once, I designed advertisements and promotional materials, redesigned a magazine, and created an art installation. These projects allowed me to develop my ability to balance form and function to meet desired goals.

2018–20

Graphic Designer & Student Intern

WRHC 2020 Conference — Cedar City, UT

In addition to managing the conference website and schedule, I was responsible for all things design. This included conference branding and the application of the brand to nametags, cards, wayfinding, and all other conference collateral. Click here to see this project.

2018–20

Graphic Designer

Southern Utah University Festival of Excellence — Cedar City, UT

For two years, I was tasked with creating marketing and event materials for this annual conference. The branding was preexisting, and it was my job to create a distinct aesthetic for each year. Click here to see this project.

2019

Campaign Manager

TJ Penrod for Cedar City Council — Cedar City, UT

Working with a municipal candidate, I created a visual identity for the campaign. This was applied to signs, cards, flyers, buttons, the website, and social media graphics. In addition, I balanced the campaign budget, handled the digital marketing, and coordinated volunteers. Click here to see this project.

2017–18

Editor-in-Chief

Thunderground Independent Student Media — Cedar City, UT

For a year, I managed an independent student media organization, in which I wrote over 80 articles, designed 290 magazine pages, produced six digital magazines, and managed social media. In less than a year, Thunderground's Instagram following surpassed that of the decades-old university-sponsored organization.

2016–17

Editor-in-Chief

University Journal — Cedar City, UT

During my freshman year of college, I managed a team that produced weekly newspapers, the organization’s first-ever magazine, and a new website. In addition, we grew our readership by as much as 300% in one year.
