Every year, my university hosts the Festival of Excellence, a one-day event where students and faculty disseminate their academic pursuits to their peers. The brand was already established, consisting of a monotone orange scheme and gear icons. The designer has the freedom to create a look for that year’s Festival.
For the 2019 event, I landed on a stained glass aesthetic which included the gears. I applied this to the program cover and the wayfinding signs. The 2020 event was cancelled due to concerns related to the COVID-19 pandemic, so only initial event advertising was created for that year.
